It is worth noting that in December 2023, Octopus Energy acquired Shell Energy, which includes its broadband and phone customers. Since Octopus Energy doesn't offer these services, they've arranged to sell the business to TalkTalk. This transition means that Shell Energy customers will eventually be transferred over. However, there will be no additional costs, and you will remain on your current contract with Shell Energy.

Shell Broadband Reviews

Shell Energy Broadband prides itself on good customer service with friendly call-centre agents. They are competitively priced with an impressive standard offering of unlimited usage for both downloads and uploads. One negative, depending on what you are looking for, is that there isn't really any flexibility on contract length, with all packages being 18 month contracts. There are also no TV bundles to go with the broadband, so you would have to look elsewhere for a full TV & Broadband package deal. If what you need is affordable, reliable broadband though, then it's hard to look past Shell Energy as a strong option.

In December 2023 Shell Energy, including its broadband and phone customers, was bought by Octopus Energy. As Octopus Energy doesn't provide these services they have agreed a sale of the business to TalkTalk. This means that at some stage, Shell customers will be migrated over. There will be no cost involved though and you will stay on your existing contract agreed with Shell Energy.
