Sky Broadband
Best known for its TV services, Sky is still a favourite with millions and keeps rolling out new, cutting-edge products. Alongside its well-known Sky Q satellite TV, there’s now Sky Glass — a smart TV — and Sky Stream, a small streaming box. These newer options don’t need a satellite dish since they stream everything over Wi-Fi. With satellite TV on its way out and streaming becoming the go-to way to watch shows, Sky’s clearly gearing up for the future of how we watch TV, and with its ultrafast and gigafast broadband now backing up these streaming-friendly services, Sky’s internet and TV setup is a major contender.

Sky Broadband Speed
Superfast 35 (36Mbps avg.) – A great entry-level fibre option, ideal for smaller households with basic internet needs.
Superfast (61Mbps avg.) – A widely available upgrade if you need a bit more speed and stability.
Full Fibre 100 (100Mbps avg.) – The most basic full-fibre (FTTP) plan, offering faster speeds and more reliable performance.
Ultrafast (145Mbps avg.) – A solid choice for faster downloads, better streaming, and smooth multitasking.
Ultrafast+ (500Mbps avg.) – Perfect for larger, more connected homes that stream, game, and work online across multiple devices.
Gigafast (900Mbps avg.) – Sky’s top-tier broadband, available in select areas. Great for big households needing the fastest speeds for video calls, big downloads, and lots of connected devices.
Just keep in mind, your actual speed options depend on your local network setup and whether full fibre is available in your area.

Sky gives you a few options depending on how you want to watch:
Sky Q – The classic satellite setup with a Sky Q box. You’ll need a dish installed, but it offers the full Sky TV experience and top reliability.
Sky Stream – A more flexible option that works over Wi-Fi, no dish needed. Great for flats or rented homes where installing a dish isn’t ideal.
Sky Glass – A smart TV with all the Sky features built in. You don’t need a separate box or dish — everything’s built right into the screen. It’s the priciest option, but super convenient if you need a new TV anyway.

Is Sky broadband any good?
Sky’s got pretty much everything under one roof — broadband, full fibre, home phone, mobile, TV, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, and streaming apps. Signing up means you can bundle all your services together in one place. It uses the Openreach network (same as BT), so its broadband is on par with providers like BT, TalkTalk, Plusnet, and Vodafone.
All that being said, it’s not always the cheapest, especially once you add TV, and mid-contract price hikes can still happen. But overall, pricing is fairly competitive, and it’s a strong all-in-one option if you want the extra content and have the budget for it.
What is Sky Broadband Boost?
Sky Broadband Boost is an add-on that helps spread your WiFi signal around the house for a stronger connection in every room. If you don’t get at least 3Mb/s everywhere, Sky will check your setup and try to fix it — and if they can’t, they’ll credit you a month’s broadband (Boost included).
Can I get Sky Broadband in my area?
The easiest way to check is simply put your postcode into our comparison tool above and it will show you the deals available in your area.
Can you get Sky TV and broadband without a phone line?
Yes, you can get Sky TV and broadband without a traditional phone line, notably with Sky’s full-fibre options which connect straight to your home and don’t rely on old copper phone lines. Most standard Sky broadband packages still use the Openreach network, so they’ll need a phone line and include line rental. But with Sky’s newer full-fibre plans like Ultrafast Plus and Gigafast, there’s no phone line needed. And if you still want a landline, Sky Talk lets you make calls over the internet instead.
How to cancel Sky broadband?
You won't be able to cancel just by logging into your account on the website, or via the Sky app. To cancel, you can call 0333 759 2823 from a landline or other mobile (standard charges apply).
